Summer Camps 2025

Excited to announce summer camps for 2025! There will be seven camps to choose from. Each camp will run from 10:00-3:00 on Tuesday and Thursday of the week. Attendance for both days is required.

A minimum of 5 students must be registered for each camp to run.
Registration closes two weeks before each camp.
Fee: $90 per camp
Ages 5-9
10% sibling discount

Why nature-based summer camps?

Our camps are full of fun and adventure! Each week will focus on a nature inspired theme that encompasses many areas of learning, exploring and a whole lot of FUN! Children will be immersed in many hands-on activities that allow them to work with peers collaboratively while also nurturing their own individual interests. There is plenty of time to explore, create, and move. Camps are held on 18 acres of privately owned land, in Elk River, MN. The founders home also resides on this land. A schoolhouse is situated on the property for inclement weather. There is a combination of wetlands, woods, grassy areas, and two outdoor areas set up with activities for art, sand play, mud kitchen, large loose parts, and more!

Nature-based summer camps are great for kids to learn their strengths and weaknesses. We discuss the importance of assessing risks and making choices that are both safe and challenging. It is a great place for kids to learn an appreciation of the outdoors. We spend a lot of time learning about how we should respect nature and gain a deep love and understanding of what it offers us.

Nature Detectives and Scientists

Become a naturalist and scientist through investigation and experimentation

Learn and use various nature tools for discovery and play; compass, microscope, magnifying glasses, hand saw, etc.
Engage is science experiments using the scientific process
Go on a nature scavenger hunt

June 17 & 19 Creative in Nature

Art and nature go together in so many wonderful ways- we see shapes, colors, and abstract art everywhere. Come create together!

Use a variety of man-made and natural tools for creating art
Create musical instruments from nature
Create clay impressions with nature

July 8 &10 Bird Buddies

Birds of prey, song birds, water birds, and more! Join us for learning all about these feathery friends!

Make a bird feeder and learn the various diets of birds.
Build a birdhouse
Dissect owl pellets and learn to identify the bones inside.

July 15 & 17 Creepy Crawly Critters

Insects are everywhere. Come be an entomologist for the week and learn some fascinating facts about these interesting creatures.

Build a bug hotel for these critters to cozy up in
Collect insects and learn how to identify them
Learn where to hunt for bugs in unsuspecting spots

July 29th & 31st Mythical Creatures

You can't have nature without fairies, gnomes, and elves! Come and join us for a mystical adventure!

Create a fairy or gnome home
Come up with concoctions in our magic mud kitchen full of potions and elixirs
Go on a hunt for fairy and gnome home doors

August 5 & 7 Junior Survival Skills

It's always a good idea to have some outdoor skills to pull from. Come learn some basics while having fun together.

Create a shelter using real tools, ropes, canvas, and sticks
Learn about fire safety and how to build a fire as a survival skill- enjoy a tasty snack too!
