Tuesday and Thursday Enrichment Programs
Both days are similarly structured. Reflected in our daily rhythm are "enrichment activities"; this time is where we incorporate the emphasis of the individual day. While this is not a program that specifically teaches reading and math, these skills are implemented in various activities we are doing, taking on a supplemental approach.

Tuesday: Emphasis on Art and Literature
The Tuesday class enrichment activities are centered around the arts and literature. For art this includes music, art mediums, hand crafts, clay, etc.
For Literature this may include poetry, folklore, fairytales, drama, non-fiction and fiction. We tend to use literature to bring in many other areas of learning by making connections.
Often times, art and literature are combined to dive deeply into the richness that each one brings.
Thursday: Emphasis on Science & Social Studies
Thursday is all about science and social studies! We incorporate experiments, scientific method, living science, biology, chemistry and more! We like to get messy and hands-on. Projects may be done that day or over the course of a few classes. It all depends on what we are learning about!
Social studies at this learning level should be fun and interest led and relatable! Think cooking within the cultures, map making, diving deep into a country or region.

Each day Whispering Pines has a flow and rhythm. This allows the students to have an understanding of what to expect. We like to spend the majority of the day outdoors. Sometimes activities or weather will bring us inside the schoolhouse, especially during the winter months.
