2026 FALL Program Options

Do you have an older preschool aged child or Kindergartener that may not quie be ready for our full day program? Our Little Pinecone Explorers is a gentle, play-based early childhood weekly workshop rooted in nature and child-led exploration for children ages 4–6. Designed specifically for this age range, this program nurtures social development, early literacy and math skills, creativity, and a deep connection to the natural world through hands-on play and discovery.

Children spend their days exploring outdoors, creating, reading stories, singing songs, and engaging in meaningful play that supports those oh so important foundations—all while honoring each child’s unique pace and interests.

This immersive class blends creativity, curiosity, and outdoor skills for an unforgettable learning experience. This is a workshop syle class jam packed with activiites. Mornings are dedicated to STEAM-based learning, where students engage in messy, hands-on experiments, cooking projects over a fire or in our indoor kitchen, engineering challenges, math activities,  and intricate art mediums.

In the afternoons, students head deeper into the forest to develop bushcraft skills and explore pioneer and frontier living, guided by a skilled survivalist and history enthusiast. Learning comes alive as students practice real-world skills and connect history to hands-on experiences in nature.

This class is designed for students ages 6.5–10 years old (must turn 6 by May 15, 2026).

Looking for a second-day option? Explore our Nature School, offered on Wednesdays OR Thursdays, for a complementary learning experience. 

This program is designed for families seeking an all-encompassing learning experience. We blend nature exploration with reading, writing, math skills, science, social studies, and our favorite—project-based learning. Students have the opportunity to dive deep into a variety of studies, themes, and personal interests while collaborating with peers.

Learners may work on larger projects that unfold over several weeks, or focus closely on one main idea—always guided by where their curiosity and passion lead.

This program is offered on Wednesdays or Thursdays. Please choose one day, as both days cover very similar content and will be redundant.

If you’re looking to add a second day, our NatureLab and Pathfinders workshop is available for students ages 6.5–10. For Kindergarten-aged learners, our Little Pinecone Explorers half-day program makes a wonderful second-day option.
